With an output of 6.4 kW (8.7 hp), the STIHL MS 881 not only has the most powerful STIHL 2-MIX engine of all STIHL chainsaws, but is also the most powerful series-production chainsaw in the world. This gas chainsaw was developed for forestry workers and professionals in sawmills, to offer reliable, effective support with felling, cutting to length and longitudinal sawing. Even starting the STIHL MS 881 gas chainsaw should be as effortless as possible. That’s why it is equipped with a decompression valve and STIHL ElastoStart to make starting noticeably easier. The single-lever master control allows you to access all functions with just one hand, so you can always keep your right hand on the handle. The STIHL anti-vibration system effectively reduces vibrations at the handles, protecting your muscles and joints, while the polyethylene HD2 air filter filters even very fine dust, keeping the engine clear of contaminants. The filter can be cleaned and replaced effectively without using any tools. In order to avoid possible contact between the hand and the saw chain or the claw stop, the tensioning screw for chain tensioning is located on the side. Thanks to the stop button, you can stop the chainsaw at the touch of a button. As soon as the STIHL MS 881 is stopped, it automatically sets to the start position so that you can restart it immediately.

• STIHL ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM - FOR MORE PLEASANT WORK. Vibrations can occur when you put your power tools through their paces, and these are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area and therefore to your body. The result is that your power tool is more comfortable to hold and your work is much less tiring.
• MANUAL DECOMPRESSION - EFFORTLESS START-UP. The decompression valve makes it easier to start your power tool. When starting, you can allow some of the compressed mixture to escape from the cylinder by opening the valve. This protects the start-up system and reduces the amount of force required on the starter cord.
• CONTROLLED-DELIVERY OIL PUMP - The exact chain oil output can be adjusted manually for varying conditions, allowing for a reduction of up to 50%.
• SIDE-MOUNTED CHAIN TENSIONING - FOR SIMPLE AND SECURE RE-TENSIONING. Side-mounted chain tensioning allows for protected, easy and quick chain tensioning and replacement. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.
• Heated carburetor (V) - FOR RELIABLE OPERATION EVEN IN WINTER. Thanks to carburettor preheating, you can work reliably with your chainsaw even in winter. You can change the operation from summer to winter mode in just one simple step. In the winter setting, pre-heated intake air flows around the carburettor, preventing it from icing up.
• TOOL-FREE FUEL CAP FOR OIL AND FUEL TANKS - QUICK AND EASY TO USE. With tool-free fuel cap, you can open and close oil and fuel tanks in just a few simple steps, thanks to a bayonet closure.
• STIHL EMATIC SYSTEM - REDUCES OIL CONSUMPTION. The STIHL Ematic system comprises a STIHL Ematic or Ematic S guide bar, a STIHL Oilomatic saw chain and a controlled-delivery oil pump. It ensures that the chain oil gets to where it is needed for lubrication. This allows you to reduce oil consumption by up to 50%. If you often work in dusty conditions or if you use long guide bars, you can quickly and easily increase the oil quantity at any time with the new oil pump system.
